At 17:13 on September 8, all 110 units of the world's largest clean energy corridor commenced full-capacity?operation for the first time this year, delivering sustained green power to East China, Central China, Sichuan-Chongqing, Yunnan and Guangdong,?among other power distribution areas.
Amid changing basin inflows and grid load fluctuations, in addition to taking solid measures in flood control, CYPC is executing lean management of?the world's largest clean energy corridor under the guidance and support of?high-level?dispatching agencies, including CWRC of the Ministry of Water Resources, State Grid, and China Southern Power Grid. Through planning the?scientific operation mode of cascade hydropower plants and dynamically optimizing the operation scheme of cascade reservoirs, the company effectively enhanced the power supply guarantee capacity of cascade power plants during the peak demand period. Since August 26, this green corridor?has maintained over 1.1 TWh daily power generation for 13 consecutive days, providing robust support for energy security during critical periods including?the?peak summer consumption period and the September 3 Military Parade.
The corridor—comprising Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges, and Gezhouba hydropower stations—boasts a total installed capacity of 71,695 MW. Its annual power generation of approximately 300 TWh can meet residential electricity needs for over 300 million people, while saving more than 90 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 240 million tons annually.
